We specialize in the designing and installing of cosmetic and mechanical upgrades for classic and collectible cars. To me, upgrading is improving or changing parts on your car in order to give you more safety, performance, reliability, drivability, comfort or visual impact. This is different from restoring, which is basically returning your car to the appearance, standards and specifications it had when it was purchased new and not trying to personalize or customize the car in any way. What I enjoy doing is basically a combination of upgrading and restoring, where you the customer decides what is to be left original (restored) and what is to be customized (upgraded) in order to increase your enjoyment of your particular collectible car. My job is to design a package that gives you the most of what you want within your particular budget. If your budget is flexible and you want to consider more than one package, I will prepare several packages and then discuss/ compare the different packages with you.
If your car requires a smog certificate (1976 or newer and registered in California) we will make it our job to be sure that your new performance upgrades comply with the California smog laws. We will also take your car to the referee for all necessary testing and certificates.
Remember, performing cosmetic and mechanical upgrades on old cars takes patience, organization, commitment, attention to detail and lots of hard work, but if you enjoy it, the reward of seeing and driving the finished product can make it all worth the effort.
